Beaumont Hankey & Hugh Bannister, one a charismatic socialite, the other a more reserved but astute businessman, established a business selling wines and spirits to the great and the good of London in the middle of the 1700's. This soon led the Hankey Bannister company to blending Scotch whisky hence the Hankey Bannister blend.
